The Mission: Preserving the Byrne Legacy
"For over 30 years, Jim Byrne championed the spirit of Judo from a church hall in Peckham. A man of quiet dedication, Jim directed every penny back into the community, producing a generation of Dan grades and National Champions. In his memory, we are proud to return to the mat. To honour Jim’s philosophy, St James Judo Club operates as a non-profit venture; all mat fees are donated directly to charity via JustGiving. To safeguard this legacy and preserve the traditional techniques he mastered, we have established the St James Judo Association—a dedicated governing body committed to traditional values and community service."

Practice & Contribution
"Jim never took a penny, and neither will we. In lieu of mat or
instruction fees, we simply ask that those who can afford to do so make a contribution directly to our JustGiving page.
Whether you are attending a pop-up technical class or learning the fundamental art of breakfalling to reduce impact in daily life, your support helps us continue Jim's mission of service."
